The word “TimBila” means “Song of Nature” and so aptly describes our vision for this 33 500 ha conservation Mecca. Our song of nature was written by the ten Brinke family who shares the vision of the Naankuse Foundation of conserving the landscapes of Namibia, protecting the wildlife and improving the lives of the people we work with.
TIMBILA NATURE RESERVE
SONG OF NATUREA STORY OF HOPE
Our purpose is to help conserve the landscapes, protect the wildlife and improve the lives of the people we work with through innovative sustainable commercial activities. We aim to achieve this through encouraging participation, education and scientific research. TimBila Nature Reserve was born out of necessity for a conflict free environment for wildlife coming into conflict with humans is ever increasing.
At TimBila we offer our guests an opportunity to immerse themselves into these stories of conflict mitigation and hope – to be a part of harboring change for the land, wildlife and people of Namibia. Sporting the big 4 (no buffalo) we offer guests the ideal African safari with the added benefit of making a difference.
Be The Change
We offer the most meaningful, deliberate and conservation focused wildlife and safari experience in the world. Every guest that stays at TimBila Nature Reserve is contributing directly to the Naankuse Foundation and is making a difference not only in the lives of the wildlife but also in harboring change for the cultures and landscapes of Namibia. Choosing to experience a safari with us, is choosing deliberate change.
A Safari With A Difference
We are different and we aim to be different. We are not just another big game reserve with a checklist of animals to sight and tick. We aim to immerse our guests into a safari experience, shaped by our journeys of conflict mitigation, to discover the history of each animal and how they ended up at TimBila Nature Reserve. An Ecologist led guiding team ensures monitoring of species and individual animals with guest participation which helps us understand their needs.
